Located in Dr. Phillips Boulevard, a few steps from Restaurant Row, is a small, intimate restaurant called Chatham’s Place which was established in 1988. Chatham’s Place serves American cuisine. Owned by Chef Tony Lopez and Maurice Colindres, who also serves as maitre’d, Chatham’s Place guarantees to serve excellent food.
Upon entering Chatham’s Place guests will immediately feel welcome. Maurice and the staff are very accommodating and attentive to the guests’ needs. The place is very unassuming with simple décor, intimate setting, dim lighting and subdued music. It’s a perfect place to unwind after a very busy day. But there are days also wherein it gets a little busy and loud with the laughter of diners.
Chef Tony Lopez creates a wonderful menu. He has this ability of turning a simple meal into an impressive cuisine. Most of his food includes produce from his own organic farm – herbs, vegetables and fruits. He never settles for just an okay meal. His creation is always a work of art.
The menu at Chatham’s Place includes soups, appetizers, salads, entrées, side dishes and Chef Tony’s Daily Entrée Specials. For soups: Guests can choose between Cream of Portobello Mushroom and Lobster Bisque which are served either in a cup or a bowl. Appetizers and salads include Calamari Fra Diablo, Tuna Tartare, Romaine Salad, House Special Salad, Smoked Salmon Carpaccio and many more. Guests will surely enjoy devouring sumptuous entrées such as Shrimp scampi, Spicy Chicken Louisiana Creole, Florida Black Grouper, Rack of Lamb, Filet Mignon etc. Delightful side dishes are also worth trying. Sample side dishes include Sautéed Spinach, Steamed Asparagus, and Mashed Potato among others. And don’t forget to inquire about Chef Tony’s special of day.
Chatham’s Place has an extensive wine list as well. Most of the wines served are from family-owned wineries. The list includes champagne and sparkling, white wine, red wine, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, Bordeaux blends and pinot noir.
This elegant restaurant also caters to private parties. Their professional staff will help you plan your event whether it’s a social function or business-related. The main dining room can accommodate up to 70 guests while the wine cellar can seat up to 24 persons. The courtyard is perfect for cocktail receptions.
