Got sweet tooth? Then you must get on over to Southern Candymakers if you happen to be in New Orleans, Louisiana. But then again, if you are unfortunately miles away from Louisiana, you can actually visit their website and place your order there and have it shipped to where you are!

Southern Candymakers is a family-owned candy shop that makes fresh, delicious candy from the French Quarter. They have been in existence for about two decades and their business is continually growing. A growing business which has been around for quite some time only means one thing, their product is really good, people patronize it so it should be really something everyone must try.

They have numerous kinds of candies but let us first begin with the French Quarter favorites which are the Mississippi Mud, Peppermint Bark, Sweet Water Taffy, King Cake Package (which is strawberry filled), Baby Gator, Chocolate Fleur de Lis, they even have a Cajun Crawfish, Pecan Log Roll and many more. They also have the Southern Classics such as Pralines, Chocolate Caramel Tortues, Cashew Chocolate Caramel, Macadamia Tortues, Peanut Tortues, Toffee, Fudge, Chocolate Covered Cherries, Peanut Butter Cups, Chocolate Pecans, Chocolate Dipped Glaze and Glazed Pecans. Of course the success of the candy shop is partly because they also came up with their own candy creations like the earlier mentioned Baby Gator and Cajun Crawfish. They also made Chocolate Peanut Butter Ritz, Peanut Piroques, Bourbon Street Bark, Jackson Squares, Rocky River Road, Double Dipped Tortues, Tiger Bark Tortue Pie and a whole lot more.

What’s nice about Southern Candymakers is you can buy candies that are packed really nice which you can actually give as a gift to your family, friends and loved ones. They even offer exquisite candy which can be used as favors for very special occasions like weddings or birthdays. Once again, it is not only limited to such occasions because they also sell seasonal products such as valentine candies and chocolates, perfect for the season of the hearts and also King Cakes which would also make good favors during the Mardi Gras festivities. They also have the Fleur de Lis Tower, Petite Sweet Tower, Tortue Gift Basket, Executive Gift Basket, Large Combo Box and Peppermint Bark Gift Box which are all suitable for all occasions. Grandparents can even get a taste of their products because they also have a selection of sugar-free candies.

Southern Candymakers really outdid themselves; they cater to people of all ages, the chocolate covered nut lovers, caramel and toffee fanatics, plain chocolate and praline enthusiasts. Just the scent of the fudge and pralines that linger in their shop is more than enough to draw you into their shop. Some people even enjoy waiting in line when there are quite a lot of customers because they get the chance to watch how some of the products are being made. All in all, the Southern Candymakers is really worth a try.
