For Canadian citizens to enter Madagascar, valid passports and visas are required. The passport should have at least six months remaining validity beyond the expected duration of the trip. They should be able to present roundtrip airfare tickets when immigration officers ask for them.
Madagascar government allows foreign travelers to obtain a tourist or visit visa upon arrival at the airport. The said visa is good for a maximum stay of thirty days and it cannot be extended. It is also free of charge. Those who will overstay may be detained before deportation.
However, the Canadian government encourages all Canadian travelers to secure their visas before traveling.
Those who have been traveling to infected areas before landing in Madagascar must present a certification of yellow fever vaccination upon arrival.
