A valid Canadian passport is necessary for Canadians visiting Malawi. Canadian passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your expected return to Canada. Canadian passport holders must also provide evidence of adequate funds for their stay and must possess a return or onward ticket.
Canadians traveling to Malawi for tourism, transit, or business for 30 days or less will be issued a visa on arrival at the airport or border point of entry. Visa extensions are required for longer visits. Specific documents are required for Canadians volunteering in Malawi.
Visitors arriving from a yellow fever affected country are required to carry a yellow fever vaccination certificate.
