Canadians intending to travel to New Zealand as tourists are not required to obtain a visa and may stay for as long as 3 months visa-free. However, their Canadian passport should be valid for at least 3 months beyond the expected departure date, and they must be in possession of a return or onward airline ticket, a visa for their next destination country and proof of sufficient financial means to cover the duration of stay (at last NZ$1,000 per person per month).
A departure tax of NZ$25 for travelers 12 years old and beyond and NZ$10 for children aged 2-11 years is required on international flights.
