Canadian citizens are not required to obtain a visa before traveling to Romania, for stays of up to 90 days for business and tourist purposes.
Canadians will only need a passport which is valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of expected departure from Romania, as well as proof of sufficient funds to cover the cost of staying in the country for that duration of time.
The 90-day stay in Romania is cumulative and applies to travel within all countries belonging to the Schengen Area. It is important that Canadian travelers get their passports stamped when entering the Schengen Area. Overstaying without the proper authority is considered a serious offense and those caught doing so can face having to pay fines or deportation.
