UK citizens are required to secure a visa prior to traveling to Libya.
British nationals traveling to Libya for business are required to provide a letter from his/her employer.
Visa applicants are required to appear before the Embassy in person due to biometric visa system in place.
All travelers are required to have in their person at least USD 1,000 or its equivalent. Passports must at least be valid for another 6 months on date of entry.
- Two passport-size photographs
- Proof of inoculation against yellow fever (yellow book)
- Completed visa application form
- Passport; valid for not less than six (6) months
- A letter stating purpose of trip (e.g. name of employer and task to perform) along with proof of financial status while in Liberia.
Libya has a biometric system in place. Thus, all applicants must appear in person to enroll his/her fingerprints and submit requirements.
Passports showing previous travel to Israel are not accepted for travel to Libya.
Anyone traveling to Libya is required to carry at least USD 1,000 or its equivalent. Failure to comply can lead to fines and being asked to leave the country.
The Consular Section is open Monday – Thursday 11:30 AM to 15:30 PM. Visa is granted after 7 days from date of the application submitted. Visa will be valid for 45 days from the date of issue, but the length of stay depend on the airport or border.

Note: For the issuance of visa or the provision of any other service on the same day shall have an expedition service charge of one-third (1/3) the fee of the requested visa or document.
