British nationals who intend to travel to Mauritius are not required to get visas before traveling. However, they need to have a valid passport, onward or return airline ticket, confirmed hotel booking and proof of sufficient funds that would cover expenses for the whole trip. If staying with a Mauritian citizen, the traveler must present a letter from sponsor stating name, address and relationship.
Be reminded that passports must have at least six months remaining validity beyond the expected duration of the trip. Visas, whether for tourism or business, are issued upon arrival at the airport and it is good for a maximum of 90 days stay.
Travelers coming from areas affected by yellow fever must present a certificate of yellow fever vaccination.
Those who will be traveling other than for tourism or business should contact the High Commission in London.
