British citizens require visas to enter Suriname and they must be obtained well in advance of the intended date of arrival. Essentially, all foreign visitors planning to stay in Suriname for more than 3 months are required to apply for an Authorization of Temporary Stay (MVK) 3 months before their planned date of travel.
Those arriving from Guyana, French Guiana or Brazil are required to provide proof of yellow fever vaccination.
A departure tax of $66/€52 must be paid. However, only Euros or US Dollars are the accepted currency.
The Honorary Consul for the Republic of Suriname is authorized to issue Visa on Arrival Documents in London for travelers to Suriname. A photocopy of the passport, and inbound flight number are required as well as a fully accomplished and duly signed visa application form.
