British passport holders are not required to obtain visas in order to travel to Vanuatu for stays of less than 30 days, provided that they are able to present their valid passports, onward or return tickets and proof of sufficient funds. Airlines have been reported to refuse to carry passengers on flights to Vanuatu who do not hold such tickets.
All British nationals should ensure that their passports are valid for at least 6 months beyond the period of intended stay in Vanuatu.
Those who wish to remain long term in Vanuatu need to apply for standard residence permits which are initially issued for a duration of 1 year subject to annual renewal. A non-refundable fee of Vt2,000.00 is payable to the Immigration Office upon submission of the completed application form for residence permits.
