Visa Requirements for UK Passport Holders – Tonga (Kingdom of Tonga)

British nationals do not need visas prior to arrival when traveling to Tonga for business and touristic purposes. They are normally issued Business and Visitor’s Visa upon arrival and permitted to stay in the territory for 30 days. However, they would first have to present their UK passports with validity of 6 months beyond the expected departure date, onward or return tickets, adequate funds and relevant health certificates, when applicable.

Once in Tonga, those who wish to remain for more than the allowable 30-day limit must apply for extension from the Principal Immigration Officer in Nuku’alofa, with telephone number 26-970 and fax number 26-971. Foreigners are advised that it is illegal to take up employment and schooling while in Tonga on a Visitor’s Visa.

British passport holders are advised to confirm the visa and entry requirements before embarking on their trip to Tonga; these are subject to change without prior notice.
