Visa on Arrival – Tourist and Business
British nationals can obtain a visa upon arrival in Cambodia. You will need two passport photos for this. It will cost you 25 USD for a business visa, which can also be renewed indefinitely, up to twelve months, while a tourist visa will cost you 20 USD, which can only be extended for a month.
This visa is valid for 30 days after date of entry into the country. Remember that you also have to have a passport that is valid for six months after entry in Cambodia.
Applying through the Embassy
You may apply for a visa via mail or personal appearance as well.
All types of visas may be applied in the Consular section of the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in London:
The Royal Embassy of Cambodia
64 Brondesbury Park
London NW6 7AT
You must complete the form (downloadable from the website) and submit it together with your flight details, a passport-sized photograph, and your passport.
If you are going to submit it by mail, the Embassy is not responsible for non-receipt of the documents or loss of documents in transit. You will need to enclose a pre-stamped self-addressed envelope so the Embassy can return the passport to you.
An e-Visa can also be applied for through the website of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: http://evisa.mfaic.gov.kh/ . This also costs 20 USD and may only be used for tourist visa applications.
Make sure that your visa is stamped on arrival as overstaying is an offense which merits a fine. You will be charged 5 USD per day for overstaying below 30 days, and 6 USD after the 30th day. Until you pay the fine, you will be held in detention. You may also be imprisoned or deported.
