Cyprus, being a member of the European Union, will not require entry visas from British passport holders. Visitors will be able to stay in Cyprus for a maximum of 90 days. For a longer stay in the country, travelers will need to apply for a residence permit by contacting the Civil Registration and Migration Department. During your stay in Cyprus, you will need to make sure that your passport is valid.
If you will stay in Cyprus for more than three months, you will need to do the following:
- Within eight days of your arrival in the country, make sure that you apply for an Alien Registration Certificate at the Local Immigration Branch of the police, and pay the required fee.
- Apply for a social insurance number if you are securing employment in Cyprus.
- Apply for a residence permit prior to the expiration of your visa. This permit is issued within six months from the date of submission of the applicant.
