The Republic of Slovenia is part of the Schengen Visa Scheme. As such, US passport holders are allowed to enter the country without a visa. They can stay up to 90 days visa-free.
All travelers must present a passport with at least three months’ remaining validity beyond the intended stay, confirmed onward or return ticket and proof of sufficient funds to enter the country. Make sure to get a stamp in your passport when you arrive in the country or in any Schengen country member. Failure to get your passport stamped may result to questioning or possible fines.
It is important to remember to personally register with the local police within three days of arrival if you are staying with family or friends. If you are staying in a hotel, the hotel management will register you automatically. No fee will be collected for registration.
