Visa Requirements for US Passport Holders – Algeria (People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria)

US passport holders must obtain a VISA prior to traveling to Algeria.

For Tourist Visa, applicants must submit:

  • U.S. passport with remaining validity for at least 6 months.
  • 2 fully completed and signed Visa Application Forms, typed online. Original signature is essential on each page.
  • All Family visit applicants must present an invitation from their host in Algeria and have them notarized with their application at the city hall of their Algerian host’s place of residence. Fax copies are not acknowledged.
  • Copies of itinerary or airline tickets indicating entry and exit from Algeria
  • Copy of confirmed hotel reservation
  • 2 Passport-type ID photographs

    Note:  An applicant’s Algeria Visa is only valid for the specific dates that he/she have requested on their application form. This indicates that an applicant may only arrive on the date stated and not a day before. Applicants are recommended to make their travel arrangements in accordance with the date of entry on their visa.

For Business Visa, Applicants must submit:

  • U.S. passport with remaining validity for at least 6 months.
  • 2 fully completed and signed Visa Application Forms, typed online. Original signature is essential on each page.
  • 2 Passport-type ID photographs
  • An original letter of invitation from the host company in Algeria is mandatory.
  • Copy of itinerary or air tickets showing your travel dates

    Note:  An applicant’s Algeria Visa is only valid for the specific dates that he/she have requested on their application form. This indicates that an applicant may only arrive on the date stated and not a day before. Applicants are recommended to make their travel arrangements in accordance with the date of entry on their visa.

  • A business letter of responsibility is necessary, this should be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

    Embassy of Algeria, Visa Section, Washington DC

  • The letter must state the name and address of host or reference in Algeria to be visited, nature of business to be carried out, return transportation guarantee and adequate funds for the visit and have it signed by an officer of the company aside from the applicant.
