Visa Requirements for US Passport Holders – Israel (State of Israel)

US citizens with valid US passport traveling to Israel do not need to obtain a visa prior to traveling to the country. A tourist visa will be issued upon arrival in Israel which is valid for up to 3 months only. Legal residents of the US holding a legitimate American Re-Entry Permit or a Refugee travel document have to apply for a visa.

US citizens do not need a visa for tourist or business travel to Israel; however, a valid US Passport, an onward or return ticket and proof of sufficient funds to cover the cost of the trip are required.

A visa is required for Official and Diplomatic passport holders. Any other U.S. citizen who wishes to travel to Israel for any purpose other than tourism or business negotiations (e.g. work, study, adoption, immigration, or stays longer than stipulated in the entry requirements) should contact the embassy directly or nearest consulate before leaving the United States.
