Yellow Dog Eats

Orlando Florida is famous for Disneyland and the Universal Studios. Ask anyone what he or she knows of Florida and that is what the usual response is. But there is more to Orlando than just Disneyland and the Universal Studios. Orlando has great cafés and restaurants as well.

Yellow Dog Eats is one café that stands above all the rest. Even with its quirky name, people flock to this charming little cottage known for its sandwiches, wraps, salads and pulled pork. Pulled pork is a form of barbecue wherein the pork is cooked using low-heat, long-cook method. The cottage is the only building standing in the middle of hundreds of acres of orange trees. Yellow Dog Eats used to be the Gotha Country Store before it was transformed into a café. People just love the cottage feel inside and out. Stepping inside the café, one would notice wooden planks on the floor as well as on the wall. It has wooden tables and chairs; some tables are round while the others are square or rectangular. There are numerous shelves lined up that has the chef’s own barbecue sauce, jams, jellies and other preserves that are available for takeout. The café has an outdoor garden dining option, too.

The food, of course, is the best thing about Yellow Dog Eats. The owner and chef Fish Morgan wants nothing but the highest quality ingredients in his food. He uses only lean and tasty meats, locally grown baby greens, homemade pastries and multi-grain bread. Chef Fish and his crew strive to make each meal as creative and distinctive as possible and go beyond what is expected from them.

The menu includes Yellow Dog Eats Signature Sandwiches like the Yellow Dog Club, which is made of Honey Mesquite Turkey; Diggidy Dog, which is a wrap invented by Yellow Dog and more. They also serve hearty salads such as Smokey Smoked Salmon Salad, Waldorf salad and Kitty Cat Nap Salad among others. The most famous Yellow Dog Eats Barbecue recipe is the Yellow Dog’s ‘Famous’ Pulled Pork Sandwich. Guests have nothing but praises for this incredibly sumptuous meal. There are more equally delectable choices on their menu. And more often than not, guests become regulars since they just have to try everything on the menu.

Guests can also choose from the café’s extensive wine list to go with their meals. They can even order for take out.

Yellow Dog Eats can accommodate private parties of 15 persons in the upstairs room. They are also available for caterings and outside parties. They are open everyday from 11am to 9pm.
