The Toren

Overview

Strategically located in Keizersgracht, in the center of Amsterdam, The Toren is a charming and quaint boutique hotel that boasts of magnificence and grandeur. The hotel also exudes an atmosphere of ease and comfort. The staff’s hospitality is very evident in the way they deal with each and every guest.

The hotel is in close proximity to interesting places to visit and discover. Just minutes away from the hotel are the Jordaan district and the famous House of Ann Frank. Also within the neighborhood is the Royale Palace, the National Monument and shopping centers such as Magna Plaza, Bijenkorf Department Store and Berlage Exchange.

Accommodations

There are 2 buildings that house the hotel’s accommodations. These buildings are just 50 meters away from each other. The second building is accessible through an outside entrance. In total, there are 35 rooms including suites in The Toren.

Rooms are relatively small in size compared to other hotels but they are well decorated and accented by dark colors including red and black.

Each room or suite is equipped with a 37” LCD TV with cable channels and pay movies, telephone, wired and wireless high-speed internet access (with minimal charge), desk, mini bar, coffee/tea maker, in-room safe, iron and ironing board (available upon request).

Rooms and suites have en-suite bathrooms with bathrobes, slippers, hairdryers and complimentary toiletries.

Depending on the guest’s needs, room sizes and capacity varies.

Dining

Just recently, the hotel started a partnership with Restaurant Christophe’ – a restaurant, which is located just around the corner. Guests can order from their impressive and extensive menu and the hotel staff will serve the food in the guest’s own room or set-up a table in the lobby. This service is available from Tuesday to Saturday from 6:30pm to 10pm.

Hotel Amenities

The family-owned Toren was converted into a hotel in 1968 and opened in 1969. Although it has undergone numerous renovations, the family kept the original classic architectural design and furnishing combining it with touches of contemporary amenities.

A meeting space measuring 645 square feet with audio-visual equipment is ideal for intimate business-related gatherings. The front desk has a multilingual staff and is open 24 hours a day. The concierge offers assistance to guests who wish to go on a tour or buy tickets, exchange currency and reserve a restaurant. An airport shuttle is also available 24 hours a day.

There are, however, no parking facilities in the hotel. Public parking garage can be found within the vicinity of the hotel.

Local Attractions

Countless attractions are within reach. Guests can lose themselves in museums such as The House of Ann Frank, Lab Art Life and Theater Museum. Amusement parks and Zoo are ideal destination for families. The concierge and front desk are more than willing to help you plan your outing.
