Canadian citizens are permitted to enter Norway or any part of the Schengen area visa-free. Canadians traveling for tourism or business are allowed to stay up to 90 days without a visa. However, a valid Canadian passport must be presented upon entering the country. Make sure that your passport is stamped when entering the Schengen area.
It is also important for travelers not to overstay the permitted number of days in the country or in the Schengen area. Overstaying may result in being fined or deported.
Aside from a valid passport, foreign travelers entering Norway without a visa must possess the following documents:
- For business: letter from the local company authorizing the trip
- Sufficient fund for the duration of the trip: NOK 500 each day stay
- Onward or return ticket
For those who intend to stay for more than 90 days or have other inquiries regarding entry requirements, it is advisable to consult with the Norwegian embassy or consulate for the requirements.
