Visa Requirements for UK Passport Holders – United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates)

British citizens do not require visas when traveling to the United Arab Emirates. British citizens are given 30-day visit visas on arrival, free of charge. They will, however, need to present their British passports and these must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of arrival in UAE. Additionally, a return or onward travel ticket will be required.

Although the visa may be stamped for 30 days, it entitles the holder to stay in the country for 60 days and may be renewed once for an additional period of 30 days for a fee of £100.

Please note that the visit visa on arrival is only applicable to British citizens. Those holding any other type of British nationality such as British Overseas Citizen or British National (Overseas) must obtain visas before traveling to the UAE from the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in London.

As well, resident visas and work permits are only issued by the relevant authorities in the UAE after an application has been lodged by a prospective employer.

Further information on visa requirements for all other types of British nationality is available from the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates. It is also strongly recommended for British citizens to confirm the above-mentioned visa and entry information well in advance of planned travel, as they are subject to change without prior notice.
